Season 3 is OUT!!!

Got an email today letting me know that season 3 is now out and ready to play for real. that was a quick turn around I must say...and on top of that they lied. I opened up my season 2 updater program for Albatross and it told me to follow the link to download the new game. So much for it simply being an update like a normal Thursday thing. Anyway head on 0ver to their website or download.com and pick up the new version of it.

Also the new kart racing game Kart Rider is out as well...I played it and enjoyed it. I think Chrisy finds it fun as well. You can check it out and give some feedback.

Playing Again

Hey all!!!
Sorry for such a long absence but as we all know we have been very busy with everything.
I would like to alert you all to the fact that season 3 of Albatross is coming out soon. There is an open beta until the 30th of Sept. and after that they will make it the only version to play in the near future.
I would suggest downloading it...if you can't find it find me as I have it on my jumpdrive.
Another thing would be to post here for what night works best for you during this semester. For me it would still be Tuesday nights. Post and discuss what works best for each of you.
Lastly there is another game that comes out on October 2nd called Kart Rider. Bascially it is like a Mario Kart MMO (though the characters look like the guys from bomberman). If we want to play this also/instead you can also talk about that on the posts here.

Tee Time

Tonight if golf night. We should play golf tonight, especially since I will be gone the next two Tuesdays. Come and play golf with me and wish me a fond farewell as I go on vacation.

You all know the time and place, and if not just move your eyes and head a little more to the right and possibly down a little bit and it will magically appear where we meet and at what time. Don't ask me how I do that, because I don't give away my secrets. ;)

Seriously...its time to Golf

I have been gone the last two Tuesdays for family events, but I am back and ready to play like the average player that I am.

Tonight is our golf night and it is summer, so there should not be any big meetings or whatever that you have to attend. I am hoping to see most of you on for a fun night of trash talking and the occasional good chip or putt.

On a further thought we still have not had an official tournament yet. I would like to see one soon and tonight would be as good as any night to have one. So grab your clubs and lets play some golf!

Flaming Demons Adventures Part 1

After having a rather adventurous and fun evening of golf with CMBMSU, I promised to post something unique. So here is our first comic strip of our adventures in golf. If you have one an adventure then put a comic together and post. Should be fun.

What is golf all about?

Golf night (tonight 8:30 PM EST; -5GMT) is not just about playing a golf game, though the game does rock, it is more about the companionship and camaraderie. It is about getting together with your friends (maybe people you just like to make fun of...JB) and having a good time just playing.

So it has been a long while since I have posted but sometimes Real life is more important than a video game (only sometimes...and don't you forget it). Since I have been gone I have noticed that almost all ya'll have been slackers! I don't like slackers! I want dedicated individuals, gosh darn it.

Those are just a few of the amazing things that happen every Tuesday night when the Flaming Demons get together and play some golf. Tonight at 8:30 EST (-5GMT) is the time to play like you have never played before (or maybe you should so you don't suck it up! *cough* cough* cpatgs *cough* cough*). We will be playing in the Water server meeting in the VS Match section in room Phoenix.

Edwards will be joining us tonight as a new member. Make him welcome and haze him a little especially if he is a rookie F cuz that means no tourneys for you!

Was good to see Y there and get him involved in his first tourney...though he spent the night frustrated and seemingly bored.

And as always good to see the usual cast of characters...Wholesome continues to polish the crown with Sunshine and JB hot on his heals. I am however looking for a colorful jester's hat...something that suits my personality and something better than the one above...we'll see what I can find...

The Usual.

I am late again for a second week in a row. If you guys and gals see that I am this late just post a game night post yourself. But as usual we have golf tonight.

I hope to see you all on. We need to have that first official tournament. I keep saying it but we haven't had one yet so I will keep saying it 'til you all show up and we get one!

Umm so I think that is all. Boring but you know what to do.

It honestly seems like forever since we last played golf together. I think part of that reasoning is that I have been so busy with everything coming up that I have not even played since last Tuesday night.

Sorry for such a late post but I was gone all day.

With that being said; tonight at 8:30 PM EST (-5GMT) we will meet on the green to cheer each other on as we still strive to have 10 people to have our first official tournament. I look forward to chatting with all of you tonight and relaxing from a busy time behind and ahead for most of us.

New Time Same Night!

Wholesomegoodnes has just emailed you all with the new time for golf. This should allow all of us with meetings and other obligations to play golf on Tues nights. The new time in case you haven't checked your email is 8:30 PM EST (-5GMT).

With the new time change, we will hopefully have more people playing at once and with that we will be able to have 10 people (dare I say) so that we can have a tournament with a trophy as I have been talking about since we started the guild.

Hosed Again!

Sigh, another -20.  This time around, I had -19 going into 18, but a 9m headwind was blowing in my face keeping me from hitting the eagle.  It also didn't help that I had no powershots left...I hate this game.

Golf Night

Ok so I forgot to write this up earlier, but you all know what day it is and what that means. Tonight we play golf. We have been low on numbers lately and consequently have not had a full roster of people to play a full tournament. Even though Wholesomegoones has claimed the victories no trophies have been awarded yet.

So come and join us and play some golf. With 10 people we can have our first tournament with trophy winner tonight.

Lastly in Wholesomegoodnes' last post we will be graced by the presence of Dirty6 tonight (most likely). If he is on make sure to give him a good hazing.

So I had a bunch of images I have taken in the last couple of weeks, and I thought what is the point of having these images if you don't share them with people. So here they are!

Here is me almost hitting it over the edge on a miss hit and the second is almost hitting it too far.

Here is me getting a bronze a bit ago while not even trying. All I was doing was going for a new record for 1K Pang. Which you can see in the next picture.



The next two are from last night. The first is an eagle on 6 of Ice Cannon, which was the only good thing I did last night. The second is of what the rest of the night was like.

A Special Report Reminder!

You don't need to play to get the gift, kind of like grace...erm, just log in and click on one of the rooms, and presto, it's in your gift section in your room. Easy money, kind of like grace...wait, no!

okay....so a. I am the ultimate geek because I took one look at the crown on top of WG's head and thought hmmm that looks an awful lot like St. Edwards Crown or perhaps the Imperial State Crown...and I am sitting here actually wondering which one it is...of course it might be neither but anyways...

And b... If WG is the King can I at least be a princess for my better than halfway decent performance on the links Tuesday...please?

Who Wants to Play Some Golf?

It's that time of week again when we all log into this game and play some golf. As usual we will meet in Water server Vs Mode room Lupus. Looks like we are all at least Rookie E or better which means that we will all be able to play in a tournament. After we meet we will most likely move on over to Tournament mode and start a tourney.

Always remember to press F11 for any good screenshots or download FRAPS from their website to take 30 second video captures of anything you can catch.

As always we meet at 8pm EST (-5GMT) and don't forget to comment about gameplay afterwards.

Lastly, lets try to get a new tourney winner up there. If we get 10 people then we can have a real winner with trophy and all!

The next one is of me on the ship from our tournament last night. I got an OB on Ice Cannon hole 14 and it put me on top of the ship they have on the course. Why oh why would they put you on the ship? They already mess you up by giving you a 2 stroke penalty. Jweks!

Tuesday...Need I say more?

Alright golfers it is the ever popular and much needed game night. 8pm (EST/ -5GMT). We are going to meet in the Water Server, Match Mode, Room Lupus. Why? Because WholesomeGoodnes likes that room. That is a good enough reason for me!

Assuming we are all finally past Rookie F (lets hope) then we can all then move our game over to the tournament section and have our first guild Tournament. We have more than enough people for a 10 player tournament and if we don't then we can make it private and start with at least 4 people.

I suppose the winner will have some bragging rights and we can take a screenshot and post it up on the site. Maybe not a post but as a "widget". Well I hope to see you all on the green tonight and not in some water or OBing it.


Side Note
On a personal side note I am planning on posting some pics of some of my recent adventures in the life of my character. Wife has been gone so I have been spending my free time playing and I have some interesting stuff. Please feel free to do the same.

Our First Official Game Night...Plus some Help

Game Night
Tonight is game night. It will be the first time that we truly are the Flaming Demons guild. I feel a tear coming on. Wait no....it went away. Oh well.

I hope to see you all on tonight around 8pm (-5GMT) or so. We will log into the Water Server (less occupied) and we will meet in the last room in the Tournament Section of the game.

As always, make comments of post game results or if it is too juicy and involves pics or videos just make a new post of the wonders that you accomplished.

I would like to ask you to please post comments of how you feel about accepting random members that we do not know. We already have a gentleman from Italy wishing to join our newly formed ranks.

DJ and I think that before acceptance we should email them and inform them of our guidelines and play times and make sure that that they are nice people in general.

As I said, though, we would like to know if you would want random people as long as they fit our criteria. So comment please. Thanks everyone!

It's Official

Hot off the presses! Extra! Extra! Flaming Demons terrorize the golf world, much like they were before, but now in a much more sanctioned status!

Guild is Open

Thanks to the efforts of mostly DJ and the money (in-game that is) of Brian we now have opened the guild for applications. I will be very picky about who will be allowed in and who is rejected.

Well not really since it took so long to get us started. So just log into the website Alabatross18 and click on the guilds icon and search for the Flaming Demons guild and then sign up. Then when I log into our guild site I can approve you. I am not sure if DJ can but if he can he will approve you as well.

As soon as we are approved via the logo and the name of our guild we should have the OK by the game in a day and we will be up and running. As soon as we have 8 of us approved by DJ and I then we should have the logo show up in-game. Also you will be able to click on your guild tab in the game as well.

In the future there will be guild events for us to hold within the guild as well as against other guilds so that should be fun stuff to look for down the road.

Glad you all decided to play and we finally got this thing up and running.

BAMO!

While the Rest of the World Was Watching Gray's Anatomy...

Wholesome Goodness, the trooper of the Flaming Demons Guild, trudges forth onto the snowy Ice Canon course. With just slight remnants of his cold remaining, he coughs off one throat itch after another, with eyes set on the prize: that elusive -20 score.

After a few lackluster shots mixed in with a few "make yo momma proud" shots, the stage is set...



The Leader: some 13 year old kid no doubt, RedLeprechaun I believe.
His Score: -19, as he sits in the clubhouse, eyeing the 18th green.
Wholesome's Score: a modest -18, as he squares up in the 18th tee box.


Wholesome hits a short tee shot, setting him up to slide the ball down the tunnel off to the left hand side of the fairway...a success. The ball gets dumped on the green 26.6 yards from glory. Just 26.6 short yards from that prey which has been in the grasp of our dear Wholesome Goodness several times, only to slip away as his fist tried to clench the elusive prize; just one putt...RedLeprechaun leans forward in his chair as Wholesome takes a moment to compose himself. He takes a sip from his closely located water glass as another cough makes him realign his putt. This is it, a gold trophy hangs in the balance but that matters not. No, this is about the record...all about the record.

After drying his forehead with a quick backhanded swipe, he approaches the ball. The putter swings back, with fluid motion. Then following a rhythm that would make a pendulum jealous, the putter glides forward and strikes the ball. Time seems to stop. In the distance you can see that even the deer have turned their heads to take notice of this momentous occasion. There is a waddle of penguins surrounding the cup to get an up close look at the ball as it travels towards its intended destination.

10 yards...

Wholesome clasps his hands "PLEASE!!!!!!!!!" he cries.

5 yards...

and then....clink!



It is accomplished.



...and is that a fist pump I see? Bamo!

It's Tuesday....you know what the means!

That's right tonight we enter into the world of golf again. Put on your gloves, spiked shoes, goofy shorts, polo shirt, and a hat and get ready for some good golfin'...we hope.

Last night was good to me!

So I did not have any record braking scores like Chrisy but I did have a couple of good holes for myself. Sorry about all the pics but since I do not have a video program to capture video yet I took a couple pics to get the full experience of my excitement.

The first 4 are a HIO on WestWiz hole 2. I hope you like them.



I like Pipin's (my caddie) facial reaction to my HIO. It's priceless.

Ok the next two are a chip in on hole 8 for an eagle on Ice Cannon. I was not expecting it at all.



Lastly is a picture that I do not know how old it is but it's of Chrisy. I like her comment with the picture I took. It's brilliant.

Well maybe not victory but the best score ever for me!!! -3 in the tourney Ice Canon with the guys!!! or should I say men? Gentlemen?

Game Tonight...you better be there

Tonight is the usual game night. I will be there about 8pm tonight to start playing. Hope that everyone is there and that we can increase our numbers so we can really get this guild going.

Course Guides

Ok so I added some course guides I found on the Albatross18 forums. The video work fine as far as I could tell for the 10 seconds I watched them.

Like I said I have not looked them over I just thought it would be a good way to have easy access to them. I hope they help if you need it. I know I do after the way I have been playing lately.

There are text guides as well for some of the holes but the forums on Albatross18 do not have separate links (URLs) for each topic so I cannot link them here. So if you want a guide that is not in video then check the forums and see if they have a text guide available.

The guides are on the right side on the sidebar for your enjoyment!

P.S. I found a new website that had some of the text guides I added. It seems like a good one though I have not really looked it over. It's called Pangya Headquarters.

It's Go Time!
So I thought this would be a fun little thing to do. We can post videos pictures and stories about our adventures in Albatross18. I have no idea why I thought of it but if you like it I hope you join in with pictures and stories and maybe we can get this website revamped and looking better.

So to start off I thought I would post the 3 pics of the Hole in Ones (HIO) that I have taken so far. Those are the only pics I have right now and I am learning about taking videos but I just found a program and I am not sure if it is good or not. Looks cool but it has yet to be tested for its goodness. It is called GameCam. Does not look like it has video length or size limitations which is better than some other programs. I will test it and let you all know how it is. I will add it to the link list as well if/until I find something better.

New Course O' Sweetness
Today Albatross18 came out with a new course called Shining Sand. I played it on the Japanese server. It is pretty fun with a rating of * in difficulty. It does not seem to bring in a lot of pang but it is fun to look at while you are playing and it also looks like it has a Stargate on most of the holes, so who wouldn't love that?
